Marzipan has more uses than just a middle layer on a fruitcake. It’s also a great product for modelling decorations from, being easy to colour and simple to work with. You can also use it as a filling in many cake recipes where it imparts a subtle almond flavour. Renshaw white marzipan is so called because there is no colour added to it. It is actually a natural pale golden colour. Made in the United Kingdom from a blend of European and Californian almonds to create a distinctive flavour, unlike any other marzipan you’ll find. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Kosher approved. It tastes divine. Trust us, we’ve all tried it!

Marzipan can be used in bakes for an almond flavour, however, when using it for decoration there are some things you should remember:

  • Use only icing sugar when working with Marzipan, Cornflour can make it ferment
  • If modelling, treat it the same as sugar paste, starting with ball and cone shapes to begin elements of your model
  • For firmer marzipan, add tylose powder
  • Stick to gel/paste colours and dust when colouring the Marzipan
  • Remember when adding colour that the base is beige so any colour added will not be as vivid as when you colour a white base.


Sugar, almonds (24%), glucose syrup, invert sugar syrup, added water, preservative (E202).

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Once opened, wrap marzipan in cling film, and place inside an airtight container to prevent drying out.
