Here it is, the dark time of the year. It’s getting colder and the rainy days make us spend more time at home. Getting cosy, trying out some new teas, cooking together, these are the loveliest sides of autumn and winter. It is the right time for warm soups and one-pots – a tasty and healthy comfort food, the variety of which will satisfy every taste. There are countless spices to experiment with – star anise, chilli, cloves, ginger, cardamom, allspice, cumin, lovage, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, lemongrass, to name but a few.
The only problem when cooking with big pieces of spices and roots is, that you need to fish them out of the pot, once your dish is ready. It is not that easy to get rid of them completely without biting on a bitter cardamom while eating your soup, thus destroying a lovely taste of the dish.
Filtering expert finum® has developed a solution, the so called Floating Basket. A permanent filter with stainless steel mesh was created to make seasoning easier. Simply put all the spices together into a little basket, close it with the lid and let it float in your soup, one-pot, fruit punch etc. Such seasoning will give your dish or beverage a strong, unique flavour.
The filter is made of tasteless materials and is quite durable. Due to its high lid (a hat), you can take the filter out of the pot without burning your fingers. It is easy to clean and dishwasher safe.
