This simple juice recipe tastes delicious and best of all it it has many health benefits, especially for your digestive system.
Carrots help eliminate “crazy critters” or bad bacteria in the intestines that cause poor assimilation of nutrients. Carrots also help with indigestion and can stimulate the elimination of your bowels when you feel bloated.
Ginger is also great for the digestive system. It is regarded as an excellent carminative (a substance that promotes the elimination of intestinal gas) and intestinal spasmolytic (a substance that relaxes and soothes the intestinal tract).
Preparation
Carrots – Cut once lengthwise to release the core. Juice with skin on. If large carrots are used, cut them lengthwise again.
Oranges – Thinly cut off the orange skin, leaving as much white pith as possible. Juice whole or cut in half if too big to fit into the wide chute.
Ginger – Wash and dry. Cut into thin pieces the size of your thumbnail, leaving the skin on.
Method
- Juice the oranges first.
- They juice real easy; just add them to the juicer one whole orange at a time.
- Add the ginger next. You can put the entire amount in at once.
- Finish by juicing the carrots.
- Always go slow with carrots, adding one long half at a time, letting the juicer finish pressing each piece before adding more.
