Himalayan Rock Salt

Himalayan rock salt originates from northern Pakistan, an area called the “Salt Range”, not far from the Himalayas. It is a natural rock salt that was created when the prehistoric seas evaporated some 250 million years ago. The actual salt rocks vary in colour from pure white to beautiful light pink and dramatic deep red, all depending on the iron oxide content. Flavour: Highly flavoured with long-lasting spicy heat over a mild mineral body. Ideal for: seasoning meat and fish, as well as vegetables.

Persian Blue Rock Salt

Extracted from the salt mines in northern Iran, Persian blue rock salt is one of the rarest and most exclusive salts in the world. The intriguing blue colour occurs during the forming of the salt’s crystalline structure, as intense pressure is exerted on the salt deposits. The individual crystals fracture the light in an unusual way creating an optical illusion that makes the salt appear more or less shimmering blue. Flavour: Initially quite present, then rather mild with a silken sweetness. Ideal for: Seafood, salads, French cuisine and truffles.

Kala Namak Rock Salt – India – Black

Shimmering black rock salt with unique exotic fragrance and flavour, ideal for spicing Indian and oriental dishes, min 97% NaCI.

Mined from the Bolivian Andes, the beautiful rosy-pink salt contains up to eight times more iron and up to five times more potassium and calcium than sea salt. Alpine Rock Salt – Austria – Brown

Visually striking red-brown rock salt, very intense taste, best used on dark meat dishes, min 87% NaCI

Mined from deep in the Austrian Alps, the Alpine salt has one of the highest mineral contents available. Its reddish-brown colour is caused by this high content of minerals, iron amongst others. Flavour: Intense, pure salt taste. Ideal for: dark meat and game meat
