We’ve taken one of our most popular recipes and gave it a spooky makeover with gummy worms, candy pumpkins, marshmallow ghosts and tombstones! Whether you like this cake scary or traditional, this cake packs a deep chocolate flavour. And what’s even better? This one is mixed up in one bowl, without even busting out your mixer! And, it’s egg/dairy free, perfect for vegetarians or vegans!

Method:
  1. Preheat oven to 180°C
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa, salt, espresso powder (if using) and baking soda.
  3. Add in the vanilla, vinegar, and oil. Whisk to combine.
  4. Pour the cold water on top and mix until incorporated.
  5. Pour batter into your USA Pan 8″ square cake pan. Bake for approximately 30 minutes until cake is set.
  6. Remove from oven to cooling rack. This cake tastes great even without frosting!
  7. If making the graveyard cake, once the cake is cool, frost with your favourite chocolate frosting, or use our recipe.
  8. Once frosted, we scattered the cookie crumbs over the top.
  9. Then, we’ve added our “graveyard” decorations. The tombstones, ghosts, pumpkins and worms.
  10. Then, we scattered some green-coloured sugar around for the grass.
  11. ENJOY!
