At the heart of the Oliva Elité collection is skilled craftsmanship. Messermeister shapes each handle from richly figured Mediterranean olive wood, which provides a warm feel and secure grip. At the same time, artisans forge the blade, bolster, and tang as a single piece from premium German stainless steel. This construction gives the knife strength, balance, and stability in use.
Because technique matters, craftspeople hot drop forge each blade by hand in Solingen using time-honoured methods refined over generations. Consequently, the hand-finished 15-degree Elite edge delivers clean cuts and reliable sharpness. Meanwhile, the satin-finished grind supports smooth slicing across vegetables, herbs, and proteins.
Equally important, the broad chef’s knife profile tapers gently to a fine point. This shape allows for rocking, push cutting, and long slicing strokes. In addition, the longer edge helps you work through larger ingredients with fewer passes and greater control.

Use & Care:
Proper care will preserve the performance and beauty of your Oliva Elite knife for years to come.
- Hand wash only using warm water and a mild detergent
- Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately after washing
- Clean the blade promptly after cutting acidic or salty foods such as tomatoes, citrus, or vinegar-based ingredients
- Never place in the dishwasher, as heat and detergents will damage both blade and handle
- Apply a light coat of food-safe mineral oil or wood cream to the olive wood handle every few weeks
- Store in a blade guard, knife block, or on a magnetic rack to protect the edge
With regular care, the blade will maintain its sharpness and the olive wood handle will develop a rich, natural patina over time.
