The history of Messermeister knives begins with Bernd’s passion for premium German cutlery. After having worked as a salesperson for a large German knife company, Bernd founded Messermeister in 1981 with his wife Debbie. They began to design and manufacture vintage, handcrafted, forged German cutlery, and by 1995 the brand expanded internationally. After nearly 4 decades, Messermeister are now proud to be a 100% woman-owned company, with Debra, Chelcea and Kirsten Dressler continuing Bernd’s mission.
