Born from a love of food, the ocean, and a night of dreaming in Auckland, Opito Bay Salt Co was founded by Erin and Perry in the pristine Coromandel. What started as a passion project in a bach has grown into a thriving small-batch sea salt company, now operating 11 solar-powered greenhouses and exporting globally.

The company hand-harvests its salt in Opito Bay using natural solar evaporation, allowing each crystal to form with sunshine, patience, and care. The process preserves the trace minerals naturally present in the water, giving each batch a distinctive, briny flavour that reflects the purity of New Zealand’s coastline.

With a focus on sustainability, minimal environmental impact, and locally sourced ingredients, Opito Bay Salt Co produces unrefined, additive-free salts.
